Community Update
After reviewing the public comments, technical reports, and materials submitted regarding the proposed Stream Buffer Variance (BV-067-25-03) for the Falls at Mink Livsey development, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division has approved the developer's request for a stream buffer variance.
This decision is a significant setback for our community.
Over the past several months, residents dedicated countless hours documenting flooding, erosion, drainage concerns, environmental impacts, and the potential consequences this development could have on our neighborhoods and local waterways. Over one-hundred comments were submitted by concerned citizens who asked the state to carefully consider these risks before granting the variance.
While we are disappointed by the outcome, we want to emphasize one important point:
Our concerns have not disappeared simply because the variance was approved.
The flooding, erosion, infrastructure challenges, and environmental impacts identified by residents remain real issues that deserve continued attention and accountability.
Thank You to Our Community
We want to sincerely thank every resident who:

What Happens Next?
We are working to better understand the conditions attached to the approval and how they may affect construction and future oversight.
We remain committed to advocating for responsible development, environmental stewardship, and transparency throughout this project.
How You Can Continue to Help
We encourage residents to stay engaged by:
Continuing to follow updates on Updates.SaveMinkLivsey.org.
Contacting your elected county officials to express your concerns and request continued oversight.
Documenting any flooding, erosion, sediment runoff, or environmental impacts you observe before, during, and after construction.
Reporting any apparent violations of erosion and sediment control requirements to the appropriate county and state agencies.
Encouraging your neighbors to remain informed and involved.
Our Commitment
While this decision is disappointing, our commitment to informing our community remains unchanged.
Development should not come at the expense of existing neighborhoods, public safety, or our natural resources.
We will continue monitoring this project, sharing updates as new information becomes available, and advocating for accountability every step of the way.
Thank you for standing with us.
